Overview

Transgero Ltd is a campus spin out company that exploits new underwriting processes developed at the University of Limerick, particularly in the emerging risks field.

We are strongly engaged in the field of assisted and automated driving technologies. Our work spans risk transfer, insurance models through to good practice around ethics and governance regimes around self-driving vehicles. We have worked in a number of large European projects in the area of ADAS technologies and consult for industry partners in this space.

Transgero has created machine-learning tools that allow insurers to access the risk posed by emerging technologies, in particular semi-automated vehicles, nanotechnologies and cyber risk. Emerging technologies pose singular problems for underwriters as, by definition, there is little or no part data on which to create standard actuarial models. The tools also mix both qualitative and quantitative models to capture incomplete or even missing data into a software model that estimates risk with confidence intervals.
